Marc A. Louargand, Ph.D, CRE, FRICS Back
Dr. Louargand is an associate of Bartram & Cochran. He is also a principal of Saltash Partners LLC, a firm he founded in 2007 to make Angel round investments in start-up companies. Marc recently retired from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors. Prior to co-founding of that entity, he was a faculty member at MIT’s Center for Real Estate. Marc is known for his market insight and related investment strategies.
From 1994 to 20007 he was Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers LLC, headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. Cornerstone is a registered investment advisor with $10 billion in North American real estate equity under management.
The company is a member of the $460 billion MassMutual Financial Services Group which includes Babson Capital Management, OppenheimerFunds and Baring Asset Management.
Marc's responsibilities at Cornerstone included the development of investment strategy, the oversight of real estate research for Cornerstone's equities and Babson’s mortgage portfolio, and oversight Cornerstone's securities investment practice..

Dr. Louargand has published books and articles on corporate finance, valuation, market efficiency, investment practice, and portfolio strategy.
He has been co-editor of the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Real Estate Literature, Journal of Corporate Real Estate and Briefings in Real Estate Finance.
Marc holds a BA degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles.
