Levy Elected Liaison Vice-Chairman of Counselors of Real Estate
Gerald Levy was elected Liaison Vice Chairman of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) for 2008-2009. In addition, Jerry will serve on the CRE Executive committee, Finance Committee and on the organization’s Board of Directors.

B&C Partner Addresses Economic Development Leaders
Pinehurst, North Carolina, June 15, 2008
The Economic Development Roundtable of the South invited a partner with Hartford, Connecticut-based consulting firm Bartram & Cochran to speak at its 2008 meeting in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He addressed current industry trends to an audience of economic development officials from across the United States. While at the meeting, he had individual consultations with many of the attendees offering suggestions and recommendations designed to improve the results of their programs and efforts.

Bill Cochran has been appointed treasurer of Oxford Academy and serves as a board member.

Marc Louargand, Ph.D., CRE, FRICS joins Bartram & Cochran as a Consultant
Hartford, Connecticut
Marc Louargand is an associate of Bartram & Cochran. He is also a principal of Saltash Partners LLC, a firm he founded in 2007 to make Angel round investments in start-up companies. Marc recently retired from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors. Prior to co-founding of that entity, he was a faculty member at MIT's Center for Real Estate. He was appointed Associated Editor in Chief of Real Estate Issues, the journal of the Counselors of Real Estate.

Marc is known for his market insight and related investment strategies. He will specialize in litigation support and complex real estate modeling, investment and portfolio analysis and transactions.

According to Maura Cochran, B&C Chairman, the recent changes in the real estate market make it imperative that solutions have a multi-faceted approach. Marc’s academic background, coupled with his common-sense problem solving capabilities, make him unique and a great addition to the team.

Cochran co-authors article on Agricultural Land
Based on analysis completed in a consultanting engagement for Army Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) pension fund, Maura Cochran co-authored an article on the current market status of agricultural land. She detailed the risks and rewards associated with the ever increasing large-scale investor interest in agricultural land.

B&C Partner Reviews Book for Real Estate Issues
Hartford, Connecticut, September 2008.
A partner at Bartram & Cochran, contributed to Real Estate Issues with a book of Last Harvest: How a Cornfield Became New Daleville by the University of Pennsylvania's Witold Rybeznski. The book details one exurban development and in doing so describes much of what has caused the current financial crisis.
